Why do designers end up with WebM files?
WebM is the default export format for screen recordings in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, and also the output of several prototyping tools and Figma plugins. While WebM is fine in Chrome, it's not natively supported by most media players, social platforms, or Apple devices.
What happens to the audio in my WebM during conversion?
Any audio track in your WebM file is preserved and re-encoded to AAC in the output MP4. You can also replace or supplement it with a background music track from our 500,000-track CC0 library or your own uploaded audio.
Can I add captions to my converted WebM video?
Yes. Animation Machine uses local Whisper AI to transcribe any speech in your video, then burns subtitles into the output MP4. Four caption styles are available: Subtle, Bold, Cinematic, and Block.
What resolutions can I export to?

Can I add a voiceover narration to the converted video?
Yes. Use the Kokoro TTS engine (14 voices — American and British, male and female) to generate a voiceover from a text script. The voiceover is mixed into the final MP4, with music auto-ducked under speech.
Can I add a logo watermark to my WebM-to-MP4 output?
Yes. Upload a PNG logo, choose a corner (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right), and set size (5–40% of video width) and opacity. The watermark is composited directly by FFmpeg — no quality degradation from re-encoding.
