Features
Everything you need for HTML to GIF
AI captions burned into GIF
Local Whisper (small.en) transcribes spoken audio and burns time-synced captions directly into GIF frames. Four caption styles. No API costs, no audio leaves your render — and captions follow you wherever the GIF goes.
500,000 CC0 music tracks
Search Freesound's CC0 catalog from inside Animation Machine before exporting to MP4 with audio. No attribution required. Or export pure GIF — silent and universally compatible.
2-pass palette rendering
First pass analyzes all frame colors to build an optimized palette. Second pass encodes with it. Produces significantly sharper GIFs than single-pass methods — and works across Claude Design, Lottie, GSAP, and CSS.
Plays everywhere, no video player
GIFs autoplay in emails, Slack, messaging apps, and any webpage. Set loop count to 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x before encoding — the loop is baked in, no player controls needed.
FAQ
HTML to GIF — Common Questions
When should I use GIF vs MP4?
GIF works best for short loops (under 10 seconds) that need to autoplay anywhere — in emails, messaging apps, or platforms that don't support video. MP4 has much better quality and smaller file sizes for longer animations.
How does Animation Machine render GIFs?
Animation Machine uses a 2-pass FFmpeg palette process. The first pass analyzes all frame colors to build an optimized 256-color palette. The second pass encodes using that palette with dithering. This produces significantly sharper GIFs than single-pass methods.
What resolution and frame rate does the GIF export use?
GIFs are output at 640px wide (maintaining aspect ratio) at 15fps — standard optimized settings for web delivery. Portrait and square crop modes are also supported.
How large will my GIF file be?
GIF file size depends on animation length and color complexity. A 3-second animation is typically 1–5 MB. For large file sizes, MP4 is a better choice — it produces much smaller files at higher quality.
What HTML animation formats can be converted to GIF?
All formats: Claude Design, Lottie (Jitter, Bodymovin), GSAP, and CSS animations. Any self-contained HTML animation ZIP will work.
Can I control how many times the GIF loops?
Yes. Animation Machine lets you set loop count to 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x. The source animation is wrapped before GIF encoding so the output loops the specified number of times.
How much does Animation Machine cost?
Animation Machine is $5 per month with unlimited GIF and MP4 exports. No per-export fees. Cancel anytime from your account settings.
