The video MCP server
for Claude, ChatGPT & Cursor
Your AI already writes great animations. Now it can ship them. Connect Animation Machine and ask for a video: the AI writes the animation, checks a preview frame, renders an MP4 or GIF with music, voiceover and captions, and hands you the link.
https://animation-machine.com/mcpOne sentence in, a finished video out
No exporting, no screen recording, no editing app. The whole loop happens in the chat.
⚙ search_music "upbeat launch"
⚙ render aspects 16:9 + 9:16, music at 60%
⚙ get_job done in about 2 minutes
Your AI writes the code. We turn it into video.
Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor are excellent at HTML, CSS and JavaScript animation, but they can't play it back and record it. Animation Machine can.
The AI writes an animation
Plain HTML with GSAP, CSS keyframes, Web Animations, Lottie, Three.js or canvas. Or it picks one of our motion-graphics templates.
It checks and renders
A still preview catches layout mistakes first. Then we play it frame by frame in a real browser and encode a clean MP4 or GIF.
You get the finished file
Music mixed and ducked, voiceover, captions, title cards, logo, every aspect ratio. Download link, share page and Studio link.
Connect your AI app
Server URL: https://animation-machine.com/mcp. Apps that support OAuth just ask you to sign in. Others use an API key from your account menu → AI agents (MCP).
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Animation Machine and paste
https://animation-machine.com/mcp. - Click Connect, sign in to Animation Machine, and click Allow.
- In a chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu and ask for a video.
No key to copy. It works in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps. Disconnect any time from the account menu → AI agents.
One command. Claude Code opens your browser to sign in:
claude mcp add --transport http animation-machine https://animation-machine.com/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate. Prefer a key? Create one in the app and add it as a header:
claude mcp add --transport http animation-machine https://animation-machine.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer am_live_…"
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create, name it Animation Machine, paste
https://animation-machine.com/mcp, and leave authentication on OAuth. - Sign in to Animation Machine and click Allow.
- In a new chat, add Animation Machine from the + menu and ask for a video.
Full walkthrough: make videos with ChatGPT.
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the project's .cursor/mcp.json):
{
"mcpServers": {
"animation-machine": {
"url": "https://animation-machine.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer am_live_…" }
}
}
}
Create the key in the app: account menu → AI agents (MCP) → Create API key.
Add to .vscode/mcp.json (GitHub Copilot agent mode):
{
"servers": {
"animation-machine": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://animation-machine.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer am_live_…" }
}
}
}
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP works. Use the URL https://animation-machine.com/mcp and either OAuth (dynamic client registration and client metadata documents are both supported) or the header Authorization: Bearer am_live_….
Clients that only speak stdio can bridge with npx mcp-remote https://animation-machine.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer am_live_…".
Things to ask your AI
Copy any of these into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor once Animation Machine is connected.
What your AI can call
Eleven focused tools. Read-only tools are marked so clients can run them without asking each time. Every parameter is in the full documentation (also as Markdown for AI agents).
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
render | Renders an HTML animation (inline HTML, a multi-file project, or an uploaded zip) or finishes an uploaded video. Options: up to 3 aspect ratios, MP4 or GIF, 720p/1080p, 24/30 fps, music, voiceover, captions in 16 languages, title and end cards, corner text, logo. Returns job IDs. |
render_template | Polished motion graphics from a few fields: title card, lower third, quote, stat counter. |
preview_frame | Returns one still frame as an image plus the detected animation length, so the AI can check its work first. |
get_job | Progress, then a download link (24 h), a shareable watch page and an "open in Studio" link. |
cancel_job | Stops a queued or running render. |
create_upload | A one-time upload link for a local zip, video or logo. |
search_music | Search 500,000 royalty-free CC0 tracks by mood or genre. |
list_voices | Natural AI voices for voiceovers. |
post_kit | Looks at a finished video and writes the caption, hooks, hashtags and description. |
list_renders · get_account | Recent renders, plan and limits. |

How it compares
There are a few ways to get video out of an AI assistant. Here is where Animation Machine fits.
| Animation Machine MCP | Remotion MCP servers | FFmpeg MCP servers | AI video models | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | Paste a URL, sign in | Local Node + React project | Local FFmpeg install | API keys per model |
| Renders where | Our cloud | Your machine | Your machine | Their cloud |
| Input | Any HTML/CSS/JS animation, or a video | React components | Existing media files | A text prompt |
| Exact text & layout | Yes, it renders code | Yes | n/a | No |
| Music, voiceover, captions | Built in | Build it yourself | Manual | Varies |
| Works in claude.ai & ChatGPT | Yes | No (local only) | No (local only) | Some |
| Price | $5/month flat | Free + Remotion license for companies | Free | Per second of video |
Fast for everyone, by design
