ChatGPT can design an animated intro, a data recap or a product teaser in seconds, as code. Connect Animation Machine and it renders that animation into an MP4 or GIF, with music, captions and voiceover, without you leaving the chat.

Setup

Connect ChatGPT in two minutes

  1. Open ChatGPT Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create.
  3. Name: Animation Machine. MCP server URL: https://animation-machine.com/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
  4. Click Create. ChatGPT opens a sign-in window: sign in to Animation Machine and click Allow.
  5. Start a new chat, choose Developer mode from the + menu, enable Animation Machine, and ask for a video.

OpenAI renames these menus from time to time. If something looks different, look for "Connectors", "Apps" or "Developer mode" in Settings. You'll need an Animation Machine subscription ($5/month) to allow the connection.

Questions

Can ChatGPT make videos?
ChatGPT writes animated HTML, CSS and JavaScript well. With Animation Machine connected, it can render that into a real MP4 or GIF with music, captions and voiceover.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?
Custom MCP connectors use ChatGPT's developer mode, which OpenAI offers on paid plans. Check OpenAI's current plan details.
Is it the same as Sora?
No. Sora generates footage from a prompt. This renders motion graphics that ChatGPT writes as code: titles, charts, logos, UI animations, kinetic type, all pixel-exact.
What are the limits?
One render at a time per account, animations up to 60 seconds, GIFs up to 15 seconds, uploaded videos up to 3 minutes, up to 1080p. See the MCP server page for details.
