# Animation Machine

Animation Machine is a web-based SaaS tool that takes HTML animations (Claude Design, Lottie, GSAP, CSS) or existing video files and produces polished MP4 / GIF output ready for social media, presentations, ads, and portfolios. The speech/voice/OCR AI features (auto-captions via Whisper, voiceover via Kokoro TTS, on-screen-text OCR via Tesseract) run locally on the server — no third-party API costs, no user audio or video leaves the box.

## Inputs accepted

- ZIP bundle from Claude Design, Lottie, GSAP, or CSS animation tools
- Standalone HTML file with self-contained animation code
- Video files: MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM (the "add music to my video" flow)
- Batch upload: up to 3 files at once, rendered as a queue

## Output formats

- MP4 (H.264 default, H.265/HEVC available with hvc1 tag for QuickTime/Safari)
- GIF (2-pass palette, 640px wide, 15fps)
- MP3 / M4A audio-only export (Pro Editor)
- Resolutions: 720p, 1080p, 4K (3840×2160), 1080×1920 portrait, 1080×1080 square
- Frame rates: 24 / 30 / 60 fps
- CRF quality: Draft (26) / Standard (20) / High (16) / Max (12)

## Audio features

- Background music: 500,000 free CC0 tracks searchable via mood pills (Cinematic, Upbeat, Lo-fi, Corporate, Dramatic, Ambient, Playful, Epic, Chill) or custom keyword. Falls back to a curated catalog when the live service is down. User-uploaded audio supported (MP3 / M4A / WAV / AAC / FLAC).
- Voiceover: Kokoro v1.0 (StyleTTS2 architecture, ONNX) running locally. 14 voices: 5 American female, 4 American male, 3 British female, 2 British male. Up to 500-character scripts.
- Auto-ducking: when both voiceover and background music are present, music is automatically ducked under speech via FFmpeg sidechaincompress (threshold=0.05, ratio=8, attack=10ms, release=200ms).
- Loudness normalization (EBU R128 loudnorm) so exports don't come out quiet or clipping.
- "Pull script from video": OCR the on-screen text from a source video and pre-fill the voiceover textarea — useful for re-narrating existing footage.

## Captions

- Auto-captions via local Whisper.cpp (small.en model). When a render has audible speech, transcribed and burned in via FFmpeg subtitles filter (libass).
- OCR fallback: when Whisper finds no usable speech (animation with on-screen text but no narration), falls through to Tesseract OCR on the rendered frames and uses the on-screen text as captions instead.
- 7 caption styles: Word-by-word (viral karaoke style, one word at a time), Subtle (small bottom-center), Bold (TikTok-style large white), Cinematic (italic, raised margin), Block (semi-opaque background pill), Neon, Yellow. All scale across 720p / 1080p / 4K.
- Caption translation into 16 languages (free): captions can be transcribed in English and burned in as translated subtitles.

A multi-scene timeline editor included in the subscription — no separate tier:

- Up to 10 clips assembled in sequence, each with its own per-scene settings; live client-side preview.
- Timeline: proportional clip blocks, drag-to-reorder, trim/slip, chapter markers, clip speed 0.25–4×.
- Clip-audio lane (volume / mute / replace / trim) and a separate background-music lane with preview playback.
- Video track over audio: audio clips (podcasts, voiceover) can get looped background video (stock or uploaded).
- Intro/outro title cards, stock video/music pickers with orientation + duration filters.
- Variationizer: render 3 A/B variations of the same video (different hooks / music / captions) in one pass.
- "Make it a Short": one click converts any render to vertical 9:16 with crop-to-fill and word-by-word captions.

## AI assistant features (free, built in, powered by Google Gemini)

- AI Post Kit: platform-ready title, description, hashtags, and hook copy generated from the video content.
- Best-Short auto-highlight: finds the strongest segment of a long video for a Short/Reel.
- Auto-chapters, silence removal suggestions, and hook ideas in the editor's ✨ AI tab.
- Scene-aware AI scriptwriter: drafts a voiceover script from what's actually on screen.

## Branding tools

- Logo / watermark overlay: drop an image, pick a corner (TL/TR/BL/BR), set size 5–40% of video width, set opacity 20–100%. Composited via FFmpeg overlay+colorchannelmixer.
- Intro card and outro card: title + optional subtitle on a dark background, prepended/appended to the video. 3–8 second duration. Font sizes auto-fit the canvas width.

## Workflows

- One-click platform presets: TikTok / Reels / YouTube Shorts / YouTube / Instagram / Twitter. Each preset bundles aspect ratio + crop-to-fill + appropriate CRF / fps / codec.
- Bulk export: select multiple platform presets to render once each — one render per platform with shared music / voiceover / logo / captions.
- Smart aspect detection: dropping a portrait file pulses the matching platform preset to nudge users to one-click flows.
- Re-render with same settings + retry on error buttons preserve the entire setup so power users can iterate quickly.
- Shareable render links: every finished render gets an unlisted share page with player + OG preview.

## MCP server for AI agents
